1. Admissions & Enrolment

Is an online or semi-permanent programme possible?

Can a student abroad opt for a programme with family/residence?
Yes, students abroad can enrol in a programme while living with their family or residing elsewhere. Contact our admissions service to discuss the options.

What are the monthly fees and what financial options are available?
Fees are paid in 10 equal installments throughout the school year. In nursery and preschool, fees start at €450 per payment and increase through primary, secondary, and baccalaureate levels. Fees also vary depending on whether the student opts for the local BAT, the IB, or the dual BAT + IB diploma. Additional expenses, such as materials, excursions, camps, and optional services (transport, canteen, extracurricular activities, and reception services), depend on the student’s age and family profile. Please contact us for details on discounts or financial aid.

Do you require an entrance exam, and is a high level of English mandatory for admission?
There is no formal entrance exam. Families meet with a designated representative to discuss the student’s needs (curriculum, subjects, languages, special needs, etc.). If necessary, appropriate language support programmes are recommended to ensure a smooth transition.

What are the requirements for accessing the International Baccalaureate programme?
Applicants should have successfully completed secondary school in a recognized system (with proper homologation) and meet any additional requirements related to university preparation and the student’s academic goals.

What are the requirements for accessing a Sports Academy programme?
To access the Sports Academy programme, students should be talented in their desired sport and have a good to intermediate level of English.

What are the fees for American and Middle/High School online programmes?
Fees for online programmes depend on the level, number of credits, and other criteria. Please contact us for detailed information and to receive a final price based on your child’s needs.

2. Academics & Studies

Morning School Programme

Q: What are the school hours and daily schedule for the morning school?
A: Our morning school operates from 08:30 to 16:30, Monday through Friday. An optional reception service is available from 07:30 to 08:30 and from 16:30 to 17:30 for early drop-offs and late pickups.

Q: How many students are there per class and which teaching methodology is used?
A: Class sizes vary by age—from 12 students in the nursery to 25 in preschool and primary, with a maximum of 30 in ESO and Baccalaureate. This structure ensures individualized attention and supports our innovative teaching methods.

Q: Which languages are studied at SEIS?
A: Students follow a multilingual curriculum. From P1 to P5, instruction is in English. In Primary school, Catalan, Spanish, and Chinese are introduced and taught throughout the student’s time here, with the possibility of language proficiency certification before graduation.



Evening School Programme

Q: What is the Evening School Programme?
A: Our Evening School Programme is part of our curriculum that complements the morning schedule. It offers a variety of programmes designed to support academic excellence, including:

  • An American High School Diploma Programme
  • A blended-learning middle school online programme delivered in a presence-based environment
  • Instruction under the supervision of specialist tutors

Additionally, we offer courses in English at an intermediate to high level, ensuring that students can effectively communicate in international settings. We are adaptive to a wide range of curricula and currently work with the Saudi Arabian curriculum alongside others, ensuring that our educational offerings cater to the diverse needs of our international student body. A: This programme is designed for students pursuing high-level athletic careers while maintaining strong academic performance. It integrates intensive sports training with our mandatory academic schedule. We work with various professional sports, including football, golf, padel, tennis, and more. Our programme is adaptable to the needs of each athlete, and we collaborate with top-tier academies to ensure the best training opportunities for your child.

Q: What does the professional football training component involve?
A: Our “Football for Professional Players” programme is dedicated to developing young football talents. In collaboration with leading football academies, the programme offers:

  • Intensive training sessions conducted by UEFA-certified coaches
  • Emphasis on technical, tactical, and physical development
  • Pathways to international competitions and professional clubs

Q: What professional tennis training opportunities are provided?
A: In addition to football, we offer a professional tennis training track. We collaborate with renowned tennis academies to ensure that students receive:

Q: What professional sailing, golf, padel, and other sports training opportunities are provided?

Q: How are sports integrated with the academic schedule?
A: Students enrolled in our Sports & Professional Athletics Programme attend either the mandatory morning school or the Evening School Programme. We also collaborate with various other professional sports and academies, such as golf and padel, ensuring we can find the best academy suited to your child’s aspirations.

4. School Life & Extracurricular Activities

Q: What is the dining service and how does the canteen work?
A: Our canteen is an essential part of our educational environment, teaching students healthy eating habits. Operated by a specialised company and overseen by our in-house dietitian, the canteen offers various pricing options.

Q: Which extracurricular and enrichment activities are available in SEIS?
A: We offer a wide range of lunchtime and afternoon activities, including language clubs, music and art programmes, science and technology projects, and various sports and leisure activities. These initiatives are available to our students—and, in some cases, to children from other schools and interested parents.

Q: Are there summer and winter programmes available?
A: Yes. Our EXTRA Summer and Winter Programmes offer multiple options for language practice, social integration for new students, and leisure activities, held on campus or at partner locations.

5. Transportation & Uniform

Q: Does the school offer transport services?
A: Yes. We operate several bus routes covering various age groups—from P2 through to Baccalaureate—ensuring all routes arrive before 08:30 and depart before 16:40. Our transport service is managed by a reliable provider and is promoted as a sustainable option. For our athlete students, we provide private transport services, which include:

  • Transport from school to training sessions
  • Transport from training sessions to their residences or homes
  • Transport to bring them back to school for lunch

Q: What is the school uniform and dress code policy?
A: A uniform is required to promote equity and minimise distractions:

  • P1 to P3: Students wear a tracksuit
  • P4 to 4th of ESO: Students wear the official school uniform
  • Baccalaureate: Uniforms are not required, though a respectable dress code applies

Uniform items are available through our school shop, both online and in-store. Additionally, athlete students are not required to wear the uniform and may follow a relaxed dress code as per their activities.

Q: How do families participate in the life of the school?

7. Boarding Programme

Q: What is the Socrates Educa Boarding Programme?
A: Our boarding programme offers students a chance to experience Spain in a relaxed, student-friendly environment. Located one hour from Barcelona—near both the sea and mountains—our school is renowned for academic excellence and a diverse international community.

Q: What types of accommodation are available for boarding students?
A: Students can choose from three accommodation options:

  • Premium Package: Private room and bathroom in a hotel residence
  • Standard Package: Shared room and bathroom (arrangements vary based on availability)
  • Host Families: Carefully selected families offering private rooms

Q: Where are the boarding residences located?
A:

  • Standard Package: Residences are available in Reus and Tarragona
  • Premium Package: Residences are located in Salou

Q: How do boarding students travel between their residences and the school?
A: Private transport is provided for all boarding students, ensuring a safe and punctual journey to and from school.

Q: What weekend activities are offered for boarding students?
A: Boarding students enjoy supervised activities on weekends, including trips to Barcelona, Roman Tarragona, and Modernist Reus; visits to amusement parks (such as Port Aventura and Ferrari Land); football matches and sports events; as well as local village festivals and cultural experiences.

Q: What does a typical day look like for a boarding SEIS student?

  • Morning: Wake up, have breakfast, and travel to school via private transport
  • Daytime: Attend classes, enjoy lunch, and participate in sports and extracurricular activities
  • Evening: Engage in study or relaxation, have dinner, and then rest

Q: What does a typical day look like for an athlete SEIS student?
A:

  • Morning: Wake up, have breakfast, and travel to training
  • Daytime: After training, the student returns to school for lunch
  • Afternoon: Attend classes and study until evening
  • Evening: Depending on their schedule, the athlete goes to training or the gym for their sport
  • Night: After training, they return to their residence

This programme is flexible and depends on the training regime and the type of sport, but we accommodate all sports to suit each athlete’s needs.
