In September 2024, 24 talented Saudi students joined Socrates Educa International School in a project organized jointly with SAFF, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. SEIS promotes excellence in academic, sporting and all-round personal development, so the synergy of this partnership is a perfect example of Socrates Educa in the broadest sense of education.
See the students in school:
They are all members of the Future Falcons (Under 16) team, a group of football players taken from the top Saudi clubs to prepare for international championships (World Cup U-17, Arab Championship, West Asia Championship and Gulf Cup Championship ) and ultimately prepare to play as professionals, many in Europe, and represent the Saudi Arabian national team in the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
They study full time (evenings) in school with a specialized tutor (Soufiane Fares) and train in the daytime at the Mediterranean Sports Hub (Futbol Salou) coached by Michel Salgado (ex-Real Madrid) and a team of coaches, sports medical staff, technical, analytical and media staff, and living in residential accommodation in Cambrils Park. This is part of a 10 year programme, preparing for the FIFA World Cup in Saudi Arabia in 2034 where many of these students will be playing as professionals.
They are following the Saudi Arabian Curriculum online, maintaining a full educational curriculum
As a team, they are playing in the Al Abtal Cup, a junior Champions League where they have already faced Juventus, Ajax, Sporting, Bayer Leverkusen, AS Roma, Sevilla and Inter Milan, with fixtures coming up against Real Madrid, FC Porto and FC Barcelona.
